Minneapolis police announced Friday night that Derek Shaubin, the policeman who was documented with his foot on the neck of slain George Floyd in the city of Minneapolis in the United States, was arrested and taken for questioning.

Shaubin, a single with three other police officers, was fired from his job following the incident, during which he was seen holding his foot on George Floyd's neck, whom he had known earlier after the two had worked together years before, when the man yelled that he could not breathe.

Meanwhile, US news reporter CNN was arrested Friday while broadcasting from protests and rioting in the streets of Minneapolis, following the killing of a black man, George Floyd, by city police while treading his neck during an arrest.

The reporter, Omar Jimenez, was arrested by police as he spoke to cameras near a group of protesters. Jimenez was released after two hours and the governor of Minnesota has publicly apologized for the case. The news network said Jimenez and his team identified themselves as required by the police. Both Jimenez and the photography team were arrested and transported from the scene.

The city of Minneapolis has experienced the severe wave of riots in its history, including the ignition of several buildings - including a police station, looting of shops and supermarkets and clashes between police and rioters. The protest that led to the riots began when appalling documentation of Floyd's death was published in the media.

After a night of severe violence, large forces of the National Guard deployed on the streets of the city under the direction of state governor Tim Waltz. The protest spread to more states including neighboring Illinois and California, but there were no significant violent incidents.

Meanwhile, Minneapolis police released a recording of the phone call today as police were dispatched to handle Floyd's case. According to the contents of the call, Floyd purchased cigarettes with fake money and refused to return them to the store after it was discovered that the money was fake.

He also indicated that he was "drunk and not in control of himself," but did not resort to violence. In the documentation posted on the social networks of the case, Floyd appears to be held by two police officers as one lays his knee on Floyd's neck as the man cries out that he cannot breathe.

This morning, it was reported that due to increased violence and the fact that protesters did not respond to the mayor's requests and the governor, no less than 500 National Guard personnel were called to the violence centers to resolve and release some of the pressure from area firefighters, who had to deal with numerous cases of looting and arson.

The protesters looted many businesses across Minneapolis and the surrounding area, leading to internal arguments among residents who claimed that there was no point in wasting the neighborhoods where the protesters live and the stores where they themselves consumed food. In addition, in some businesses the sign "Black owned business" was hung to avoid looting.

Protesters even broke into a Minneapolis police station that night, evacuated a few minutes earlier, looted everything next door, set fire to a police uniform and finally set fire to the station. The Minneapolis municipality posted a tweet in its official Twitter account warning protesters that the station could explode due to damage to the gas supply pipeline to the station, and that there was a danger to the protesters' lives.

Minnesota State Governor Tim Waltz appealed to protesters, calling for calm: "The city, the justice system and their relationship with law enforcement and those to whom the law is intended must be rebuilt. George Floyd's death should lead to justice and systemic change, not yet Death and destruction. "

US President Donald Trump has responded to the riots and has attacked, among others, Minneapolis Mayor: "I can't see this happening to a great American city like Minneapolis. Or left-wing, radical, weak mayor Jacob Fry will take over and take over the city , Or send the National Guard forces to do the job. "

Derek Chauvin, the cop who was documented choking Floyd during the arrest in question, was fired Tuesday along with three other police officers suspected of involvement in the incident. Many call on all four to be charged with murder, while Fry calls on Chauvin only.

Fry tweeted in his Twitter account: "Please Minneapolis, we can't let this tragedy deteriorate further. We ask for your help in keeping yourself and the quiet down." State Governor Tim Wells also urged residents to return to their homes and let the rescue forces do their jobs.
