Leonid Slutsky, chairman of the Russian State Duma Committee for International Affairs, described US President Donald Trump's decision to cut ties with the WHO as a "clumsy move" and falls in the context of Trump's election campaign.

Slutsky stressed that Trump's accusations of the World Health Organization are absolutely unfounded and that there is no evidence that the organization has hidden the scale of the epidemic in China.
"The World Health Organization will not cease to exist as a result, and undoubtedly more responsible members of the organization will find a way to adequately support its activities without US funding," Slutsky added.
Trump announced yesterday that all US relations with the World Health Organization (WHO) had been suspended, despite the ongoing outbreak of the Corona virus.
