An official source at the Yemeni Ministry of Foreign Affairs denounced the European Union's renewal of the unilateral coercive measures imposed on Syria.
The Yemeni news agency Saba quoted the source as saying in a statement that Yemen renews its principled stance rejecting the sanctions policy that is incompatible with international law and is paid for by many people of the world.
The source stressed that this decision is not consistent with the current situation the world is going through as a result of the outbreak of the Corona epidemic and the calls of the Secretary-General of the United Nations in this regard, calling on the European Union to reconsider this decision, which will have dire effects on the Syrian people.
An official source in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants confirmed yesterday that the European Union’s decision to renew the coercive measures imposed on Syria reveals the falsehood of the positions and statements of its officials and exposes the hypocrisy that has become an essential feature of European policies, indicating that these sanctions are a flagrant violation of the most basic human rights and international humanitarian law and a crime against humanity in every sense Word.
