When the father died in the same year, the young couple took over the fortunes of the court. Both could look back on 68 happy years of marriage , in 2014 Johann Schreiber died at the age of 93.

The marriage gave birth to two daughters and two sons. A total of seven grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren crown family happiness. Magdalena Schreiber is popular and known in the village and the community of Fahrenzhausen. With her now 96 years, which you cannot see from her, she is still a real bundle of energy . She could not do without gardening, washing and ironing for the family .

Every morning, she reads the latest news as she reads the home newspaper.

Magdalena Schreiber is a corona risk group at the age of 96. The agile senior citizen talked to the Freisinger Tagblatt about the pandemic. Magdalena Schreiber is not afraid of infection. In such a crisis, she distracts herself with a lot of work.

I have never experienced such a pandemic at the age of 96, so the whole thing is quite confusing for me.

No, I'm not afraid to get infected. I stay away from all public goings-on and use my garden as a compensation.

What are you particularly upset about?

Wearing the face mask if it cannot be avoided.

The fact that you don't see your grandchildren, great-grandchildren and the whole family so often now comes close to your own. How do you keep in touch with your loved ones anyway?

I get calls, pictures and videos from WhatsApp from my grandchildren more often. Then she shows me my daughter Gitte, who lives in the house.

Do you have a tip for all of us how you can strengthen your immune system and stay as fit and healthy as possible?

Lots of fresh air, sufficient exercise, healthy lifestyle.

One should not let negative thoughts come to oneself in such crises. Surrounding yourself with a lot of work helps a lot.

And where do you get this positive outlook on life if you are not blessed with it from the start?

Family cohesion and the unconditional will to create something play a major role in this.

What are you particularly looking forward to after Corona?

To finally be able to go to the beer garden again with the family.
