The Lebanese army announced on Saturday that it had arrested five Sudanese foreign workers as they were on their way to experience crossing Israel. According to the Lebanese army, two were already arrested during the planning phase, and the other three were arrested near the fence, in the vicinity of 'Ayata a-Sha'ab, which is east of the planting.
The Lebanese army's announcement was made after the IDF reported last night that its forces had identified three suspects in the Lebanese border. The IDF was present at the spot and was monitoring the suspects who were arrested as they tried to cross the perimeter fence. The IDF added that this was not a handover event.
This cross-border attempt by the Sudanese workers represents another event in a long chain of events that attests to the situation of the migrant workers in Lebanon. Even before the corona eruption, their condition was bad, and now, due to the effects of the virus outbreak in the country, the situation is only getting worse. Therefore, they are trying to emulate Sudanese migrant workers who are already in Israel, where the conditions under which migrant workers live and earn a much better living.
Also, those migrant workers in Lebanon are exposed to the exploitation of Hezbollah's many forces throughout the border with Israel. The Shiite terrorist organization has the finances needed to exploit their economic weakness and to test the capabilities, intelligence and surveillance of Israeli security forces.
