Creative in the crisis: If, due to Corona, not every seat can be occupied, it looks a bit dreary in the dining room. The Schäftlarner Klosterbräustüberl and the Eglingen traditional costume shop Fröstl have come up with something.
Schäftlarn / Egling - Two couples sit silently at the tables in the restaurant of the Klosterbräustüberl. All four wear beautiful traditional costumes - as if they had just come from a May party. Beer bottles and jugs stand in front of them.
Hold on: Is it possible to sit together in the dining room again in times of the Corona crisis? Landlady Katrin Kraus has to laugh. Because at a second glance it becomes clear why there is absolutely no violation of the applicable hygiene rules here: the guests are dolls. "And also headless," she says, lifting the hat from one of the figures, under which a wooden stand now appears.

After a television program, Kraus' husband Wolfgang came up with the idea of decorating the dining room with artificial visitors. The landlady immediately jumped on: "Because then it doesn't look that sad. Honestly: It's a strange feeling when a lot of chairs are empty here, ”says Katrin Kraus - because the distance rules do not allow her to occupy every seat with a guest.
So Katrin Kraus simply called the Fröstl traditional costume shop in Eglingen. There they were enthusiastic about the proposal. "We were told that the dolls have no heads - but that also has its advantages," says Kraus and laughs heartily. "They are extremely frugal and pleasant." Sh
