The Russian Ministry of Health has officially announced its ratification of the first anti-retroviral drug in the country.
The website of Russia today quoted the Ministry of Health as saying that it agreed to use the drug "Avavavir" which is named "the international" faviravir "to treat people with the disease, explaining that the drug is produced in the framework of a joint project of the Russian Direct Investment Fund and Khimarar Group for the manufacture of medicines, where the effectiveness of this drug reached more than 80 percent.
Avivavir's clinical tests showed it was safe to use it to treat the Coronavirus without detecting any new side effects not previously recorded.
To date, Russia has recorded 396,575 confirmed cases of the emerging coronavirus, including 4,555 deaths and 167,469 cases of recovery.
