In the future there will be a new face on the board of the sewage association: Dr. Sabine Gus-Mayer became the deputy of Dr. Manfred Fleischer elected.

Wolfratshausen - Mayors and city councilors from the six municipalities of Wolfratshausen, Geretsried, Icking, Egling, Dietramszell and Königsdorf met on Tuesday evening for the 178th meeting of the Wastewater Association. Your task: to elect the two chairpersons and the audit committee. As in April, the association moved to the basement of the Farcheter multi-purpose hall in order to be able to keep the safety distances between the 19 representatives entitled to vote. "Unfortunately, a visit to the sewage treatment plant in Weidach is currently not possible due to the occasion, but will be done soon," said Chairman Dr. Manfred Fleischer.

After his accountability report, Fleischer asked the 19 members to the specially installed voting booths. It was no surprise that the chairman was unanimously confirmed in office, given the wastewater association's good record. The election of the second chairperson was somewhat more exciting.

While the Geretsried SPD city councilor Hans Hopfner proposed to fill the previous deputy Volker Reeh (formerly the CSU, today the Geretsried list) for this post, the Geretsried mayor Michael Müller (CSU) promoted his parliamentary colleague Dr. Sabine Gus-Mayer. "As a graduate biologist, she also fulfills the technical requirements for this position," recommended Müller. In the end, the 57-year-old city councilor received 14 out of 19 possible votes. The association members elected Helmuth Holzheu, Dominik Irmer and Rainer Kopnicky to the audit committee by acclamation.

Fleischer had previously looked back on the past term. "Our goal was to secure reasonable wastewater costs for the citizens and to operate soundly," said the 65-year-old. With a budget volume of 6.7 million euros, extensive modernizations will be carried out in the coming months as reported. This includes the renovation of a sewer section, the cleaning of the digestion towers and concrete renovations on the three secondary clarifiers and on the five sludge stacking tanks.

"The most burning issue remains the reduction of the proportion of extraneous water," emphasized Fleischer. During heavy rainfall, too much water still runs into the canals, so that a larger volume has to be disposed of. In the worst case, the dilution of the wastewater reduces the capacity of the sewage treatment plant, so that pollutants can get into the Loisach.
