The quantities of cotton ginning in Al-Walid grocery in Homs reached 12500 tons out of the quantities received from the eastern region in Deir Al-Zour, Al-Raqqa and Hasaka, amounting to 16042 tons, amid the application of precautionary measures to address the Corona virus.
Engineer Maher Assaf, the manager of the gin, stated that 4067 tons of ginned cotton resulted from ginning operations, 3144 tons of which were supplied to spinning companies, including Al-Waleed Spinning in Homs, Jableh and Sahel companies in Jableh and the Cotton Yarns Company for Spinning in Lattakia. Also, 7091 tons of seeds were supplied to a factory Sugar in Homs to extract vegetable oil from it, in addition to more than 1,200 tons of by-products.
The director of Al-Waleed Gin pointed out the continuation of the ginning operations with the application of all precautions through continuous sterilization operations and the commitment of workers to wear masks and gloves and special work clothes, noting the good position of the machines with the necessity of finding the necessary spare parts for some sections of the gin.
