The little chapel on Blomberg with the consecration of bells was opened five years ago. It has long since become a well-visited spiritual place on Tölz's local mountain. A celebration fell victim to Corona.

Wackersberg / Bad Tölz - In January 2013, Marlies Winterseel contacted the editorial team. The Tölzerin had a special concern. Her lifelong dream is a chapel on Blomberg. Could the Tölz courier help? “We would be happy to support that,” was the editor's answer at the time, but he made no secret of his doubts about the feasibility of such a project. He underestimated the endurance of Marlies Winterseel, who campaigned tirelessly, collected money and finally won the decisive door openers for the project with the mayors Josef Janker (Tölz) and Alois Bauer (Wackersberg). The municipality of Wackersberg approved the construction plans, the city of Tölz gave the property and logistical support. Janker, who has been very impressed by the unusual project to this day ("just great"), helped in the placement of numerous craftsmen who helped free of charge that the small church could be built below the Blomberghaus.

The ordination was on May 31, 2015. At least 150 hikers were there five days before the parish priest Peter Demmelmair consecrated the bells. The great interest in the chapel remains. It has developed into a spiritual attraction that is almost always visited on nice days.

This is also confirmed by Georg Schöppner from Kochel. The 70-year-old has made the benches and the altar. Despite his illness, the deeply religious cook regularly spends time in the chapel to speak to visitors and often give them a comforting word. Cardinal Reinhard Marx personally thanked Schöppner in a letter three years ago and asked him for pastoral care.

Josef Janker also looks back with gratitude on the “community work”. It is important to him to name the architect Martin Schneider, with whom all the threads came together at the time. With a plea for the chapel, the former head of the city of Tölz himself ensured that the majority of the city council was clear on the project. He also got in touch with the Tölzer Veterans and Reservists Association, which sponsored the church. "Out of conviction," says board member Martin Bauer. Cleaning, checking that everything is right and emptying the stick is one of the duties.

Over the years, donors and candle sales, according to treasurer Hermann Forster, have built up a current credit of 11,200 euros, from which renovation work that is due at some point should be paid. Because: The city council voted in favor of giving the land and building the chapel, but otherwise made no financial commitments.

Marlies Winterseel would have loved to celebrate the anniversary on May 31 with her fellow campaigners, the sponsorship association and participating craftsmen. "The music had already been announced and a priest had been found," says Martin Bauer. Corona ran a thick line through the calculation. "At some point it will be made up for," Winterseel is convinced. Nevertheless, she would celebrate a "silent mass" on Pentecost Sunday, up in her life's dream on Blomberg that had become a reality.
