The pictures and sculptures have been on view in Kochel for two weeks. Everything is well organized. The special exhibition will be extended until January 2021.

Kochel am See - 30 people are currently allowed in the museum so that the distance rules can be adhered to. So ten people are allowed on each level. "The visitors are prepared for this and are understanding of the situation," reports Director Cathrin Klingsöhr-Leroy.

So far, the number of visitors has been moderate, so that it is not a problem to meet the guest limit. There are more staff in the museum to monitor the regulations. “Everything is going very well. My impression is that everyone is considerate of everyone, ”says Klingsöhr-Leroy. Those who have forgotten their mouthguards can buy one in the museum. "We had beautiful models made from traditional fabrics."

You can move around freely in the rooms, says Klingsöhr-Leroy. The visitors only have to do without the audio guide for hygienic reasons. There will be a booklet for the Anselm-Kiefer exhibition, which now starts in July. Guided tours are also possible, says Klingsöhr-Leroy. As before, you have to register for it. The groups now include only four people plus a guide. "We plan that no one has to wait, not even in front of the rooms."

For a few days now, the museum restaurant has been reopening both indoors and outdoors. The usual rules also apply here.

As already reported, the Museumin is again offering art courses for children and adults during the Pentecost holidays. However, these only take place in the park. This also applies to the yoga classes. The next are on May 30th, July 4th and August 1st from 4pm to 4.45pm (registration required).

Klingsöhr-Leroy can also announce very positive news: the sculpture exhibition, which shows rarely seen objects by Franz Marc and was opened a few days before the pandemic broke out, can easily be extended - until the end of January 2021. It should actually be only run until July 2020.

There is also good news for fans of Anselm Kiefer: Its special exhibition “Opus Magnum” now starts in July and will last until February. “The objects are on permanent loan to our museum,” says Klingsöhr-Leroy.

The special exhibition "Tone Melody" planned for autumn 2020 will be postponed indefinitely. However, this is not a problem for the director. It is more important that the show “Artist Portraits” can be shown as planned in summer 2021. This is a cooperation project with the Buchheim Museum in Bernried, the Castle Museum in Murnau and the Campendonk Museum in Penzberg. The Lenbachhaus also joined the museum network. Throughout the summer of 2021, the different museums will focus on the same subject. The focus is on the artists of the "Bridge" and the Blue Rider.

During the lockdown, the Kochler Museum invited visitors to get to know the works of the special sculpture exhibition online. “The demand was good, we got a lot of positive feedback,” says Klingsöhr-Leroy. In addition, every Tuesday there is the "Image Zoom" series, in which a small detail of an image is highlighted on Facebook. If you click on a link, there is more information about the artist and work on the museum page. "This is well received, so we will continue this project until summer," says Klingsöhr-Leroy.
