After follow-up and monitoring, the Directorate of Trade and Consumer Protection in the countryside of Damascus has seized two factories for the production and packaging of foodstuffs in the city of Al-Tal today, they manufacture and distribute food products under multiple names that violate health safety conditions and are not fit for human consumption.
Deputy Minister of Internal Trade and Consumer Protection Jamal Al-Din Shuaib confirmed in a press statement that the continuous follow-up of consumer protection patrols in the Damascus countryside governorate where most of the laboratories are spread resulted in the discovery of two factories containing large quantities of food prepared for packaging and others packed and ready for distribution in violation of health safety and food standards Syrian.
Shuaib pointed out that after examining the products it turned out to be expired and unfit for human consumption and packed in a place where dirt, germs, flies and unpleasant smells spread, which required organizing the necessary seizures against their owners and referring them to the judiciary and confiscating the materials to destroy them in addition to closing the two factories and canceling the license.
Shuaib called for strict legal measures against persons who are not concerned with the health of citizens and who manufacture products that are not suitable for human consumption and impose the most severe penalties against them.
He pointed out that consumer protection patrols operate around the clock and follow the work of food establishments and workshops scattered in the governorate to ensure the safety of products, pointing out that more than 1014 catering controls were organized during the past month for various violations, including not announcing prices or selling at an excessive price or not possessing and trading bills Regular buying or cheating and possession of spoiled items.
