Since the start of the epidemic, a total of 1,016,828 cases of Covid-19 have been officially recorded in Latin America and the Caribbean, including 514,849 in Brazil, by far the country in the region most affected by the disease.

Brazil is, with 29,314 deaths recorded Sunday by the Ministry of Health, the fourth country in the world in terms of mortality due to the new coronavirus behind the United States (103,781 dead), the United Kingdom (38,376) and Italy (33.340).
