Government Prepares Plan To Save Learning

Very few companies, especially small ones, are ready to take on work-study students at the start of the school year. The survival of training centers is at stake.


Until the start of 2020, apprenticeship had the wind in its sails. To say the least, 2019 marked a record year with more than 368.,000 contracts signed over twelve months. Growth had been clear since 2016 and the number of apprentices jumped 16% in one year, an increase of 50,000 people, to reach the number of 491,000 young people in training. An “ exceptional dynamic ”, even recognized Muriel Pénicaud in February. But that was without taking into account the coronavirus crisis.

Companies have put all their apprenticeship recruitment processes on standby.
