Porsche 911 Targa4S Heritage Design, the recomposed past

NEW - The German sports car company is launching a new limited edition finish reinterpreting the decor of the past. The first achievement concerns the last 911 Targa.

Marry the present and the past. Porsche is one of the rare manufacturers to be able to afford this formula, which has materialized in recent years with the revival of legendary models - 911 R, 911 Speedster and RS Spyder. The subject seems inexhaustible and now extends to exclusive finishes. Under the aegis of the tailor-made Porsche Exclusive Manufactur department, Porsche has just launched the Heritage Design program, which consists of reviving the finishes that have marked their eras on current models. Last year's 911 Speedster was the first model to establish the principles of this exclusive program. The first production is based on the last 911 Targa 4S marketed from June.

At a video conference, Oliver Blume, the president of the brand, has already announced that three other models in the range will benefit from this program in the coming months. "We have to expect surprises," he said. We would not be surprised that the Taycan is entitled to its Heritage Design finish. If the 911 Targa 4S revives a fashionable finish in the 1950s and 1960s on the Porsche 356, the following models will reinterpret the design in vogue in the 1970s and 1980s. From there to imagine a checkered upholstery reminiscent of that of the first 928 , there is only one step that we are ready to take.

For the moment, the 911 Targa 4S Heritage Design available from next fall can be dressed in four exclusive shades including the cherry metallic of the first visuals. The bodywork is enhanced with gold-colored monograms and white decorative films in the extension of the wings evoking the 356 entered in competition. Another nod to the sixties, the front hood, the steering wheel, the wheel trims and the ignition key are adorned with the 1963 Porsche crest while the engine hood grille receives the Porsche Heritage badge evoking the one that the owners 356 install on their vehicles having crossed the 100,000 km mark. Produced in just 992 copies, the 911 Targa 4S Heritage Design is also distinguished by its specific 20/21 inch rims and brake calipers painted in black.

The treatment of the passenger compartment is also a hymn to history. Perfectly coordinated with the cherry shade, the interior combines burgundy red leather with Atacama beige. The upholstery of the seats is reminiscent of that of the 356, combining corduroy with leather. A numbered plate fixed on the dashboard brings the final touch to a particularly harmonious whole. The 911 Targa 4S is accompanied by a Porsche Design mechanical chronograph specially made for the occasion. The design of the dial with its white second hand and its phosphor green rings evokes the tachometer of Zuffenhausen sportswomen.
