Dozens of opponents of racism demonstrated in front of the American embassy in Paris today in support of the American demonstrators against the murder of George Floyd, victim of racist thought rampant in American society, whose death strangled the feet of the American police last week to turmoil in the United States.
Reuters reported that the demonstrators gathered in front of the embassy building and carried banners denouncing racism and calling for justice in Floyd’s case, some of which were written “Racism suffocates us”, “Justice for Floyd” and “I cannot breathe”, which was the last words echoed by Floyd while a white police officer was putting his knee on His neck.
"George Floyd was a victim of racist crime and racist murder in the United States," said Dominique Sopot, head of a French anti-racism group that helped organize the protest.
In a statement, the organizers urged broad solidarity between anti-racist groups in France to denounce "a crime unfortunately common in the United States."
"We also call for maximum firmness in France, including at the state level, where racist police actions have recently been reported," the statement said.
And protests continue to kill the African American Floyd who breathed after a police officer installed him on the ground and pressed his neck for minutes.
