A Western source told the Financial Times newspaper about the cyber attack on Israel's water facilities attributed to Iran: "Thousands could have been left without water"

The Financial Times reported Monday (Monday) that in an attempt by the Iranian attack on water systems in Israel, an attempt was made to raise the level of chlorine in the water, a Western intelligence source told the newspaper.

In the beginning of April, workers at a pumping station in the middle of the country noticed warnings on their computer systems, which indicate that water pumps are being switched off and on without being instructed.

Iran has launched a military satellite into space

The failure did not disrupt the water supply, but a few hours later researchers discovered that it was an Iranian code that passed through servers in the United States and Europe to conceal its origins and was found in the commercial software controllers that operated the pumps, according to four Israeli officials and a senior Western intelligence official.

The goal of supply disruption was to increase the amount of chlorine added to water flowing into homes in Israel, according to the sources.

The Israeli official said that Iran has opened the door to a "dangerous and unexpected scenario" and that a precedent has been created for cyber attacks on civilian infrastructure, which both sides have so far avoided.

An insider in the Iranian regime rejected the charges. "Iran cannot afford to poison an Israeli population. Even if it does - where is the appropriate Israeli response?" Said the same factor. "Our suspicion is that Israel wants to get more money from the US and so invented the attack. But Americans are not dumb, ”the Iranian official added.

Alirza Miryospi, a spokeswoman for Iran, also responded to the allegations, saying "Iran's cyber operations are purely defensive," she said. "As a country that has become a victim of cyber attacks, we know how devastating they can be," Miryospi said. A target for incessant cyber attacks, and we will continue to defend ourselves from them.
