Al-Baath University in Homs has taken all necessary measures to receive students who have returned to school after the suspension of working hours as a precautionary measure to address the Corona virus, and the remaining part of the responsibility remains with the students to ensure their safety through the application of the approved health rules.

Dr. Abdul Basit Al-Khatib, President of Al-Baath University, told Sanaa that the university took several measures in the framework of ensuring public safety and student safety by sterilizing and cleaning all colleges, stands, laboratories, entrances and paths, in addition to dividing students into several groups to achieve the desired spacing, as well as publishing awareness messages on the university’s page on Internet and distribution of brochures throughout the university.

In turn, Dr. Walid Khaddam, a specialist in virology at the College of Pharmacy at the University of Al-Baath, said that the ball is now in the student’s court and therefore the great role lies in protecting himself, especially since the relevant authorities have taken everything possible to ensure public safety and the media has published a lot of information about the virus and how it is transmitted And prevention from it, and all the instructions were defined in order to prevent and protect and adopt the necessary preventive methods.

He added that starting from today, a portion of the lectures will be devoted to educating students about the virus and its prevention, especially since the risk still exists and the examples are many in neighboring countries and the responsibilities are great and everyone should bear it.

Ali Hammadi, head of the university’s student union branch, referred to the union’s role in broadcasting awareness messages about the Corona virus and its danger that still exists, noting that union members are currently organizing the process of entry and exit of students to the university and colleges, organizing spacing between them, and developing educational brochures and posters.

Dr. Maan Salameh, Dean of the College of Civil Engineering stated that, according to the circulars issued regarding securing preventive measures to address the Corona virus, and in order to ensure the progress of the educational process in universities, students were divided into two departments, where the number of students of the College of Civil Engineering reached about 4,600 students, with each department having a weekly working time Ensures that there are fewer students during the lectures starting from nine in the morning and continuing until five in the evening.

In turn, Eng. Ghada Al-Muhammad, Director of the Engineering Technology Institute, drew attention to the institute’s administration taking all preventive measures that ensure maintaining the safety of students, including conducting a thermal examination of students before entering them and dividing them into categories and people in a way that achieves the required safety distance between them, explaining that the students were generalized by wearing masks and not being lenient and indolent Precautionary measures are the most powerful factor in breaking the cycle of the spread of the Coronavirus.

In Tishreen University in Lattakia, the concerned authorities also made every effort to ensure public safety and student safety after the resumption of working hours.

And the dean of the College of Pharmacy, Dr. Mohamed Nasser, stated that the college has taken all the required procedures to protect students and the programs have been prepared for lectures so that practical lectures start at a different time from theory to reduce congestion while students enter the college in addition to equipping the college entrances with temperature measuring devices while providing sterilization materials for hands and laboratories.

On awareness messages, Dr. Nasser explained that in addition to sterilization work and organizing the process of spatial spacing and other health procedures, there were rounds of theoretical lecture halls and laboratories during practical sessions in order to educate students and urge them to maintain personal hygiene, spatial spacing, wearing masks, and emphasizing not to gather in large numbers For the safety.

For his part, Deputy Dean of the College of Human Medicine for Scientific Affairs, Dr. Ghanem Ahmed indicated in a similar statement that the risk of the virus still exists and care should be taken and warned against it and not be complacent about it or complacency in the measures taken to prevent it, something that has been emphasized for students and university employees.
