Corona outbreak in winter farms in the Netherlands revealed that the animals have developed a slightly different type of corona, which infects humans and in Germany: Has a cat infected an entire nursing home?

The evidence suggests that mink (winter) is infected with the corona virus, and unlike other animals - even die from it. The minks are able to infect humans in Corona, but the big concern is a new corona mutation with SARS discovered in some furry animals.

Dutch agriculture minister Carola Schoten said that 6 other farms for corona eruption were recently discovered, in addition to a number of corona breeding farms discovered in May. Some of the sick mink farms died of the virus after developing severe pneumonia.

In April, a number of minks died in a number of Dutch breeding farms for no apparent reason, and a check showed that the minks fell in Corona. Since then, tests have been conducted on 50 mink breeding farms in the state, and in some places the infection was detected as a result of the virus passing from domestic cats or humans to the minks - and back. According to preliminary studies, the virus appears to be undergoing some mutation as it passes into the minks, which is combined with the SARS virus. According to the agriculture minister's announcement, the Netherlands is now considering whether to kill all the minks on farms they find infected.

The disturbing information that animals may become infected and infected with Corona and even return to infect humans has been discussed in a lengthy article in the journal considered Nature, where researchers express concern that a number of animals that come into contact with humans can transmit the virus and even infect humans, thus In fact, one of the only steps that has been proven to be beneficial in spreading the virus is the closure.

Infection returns from animals

So far, only two species of animals infected with humans have been reported: cats and minks, when only in the case of the minks have they been shown to infect humans. Since the mink is not a domestic animal, the chance of contracting it - apart from breeding habits, of course - is very low. Researchers are now known for a number of animals that are susceptible to various levels of the corona virus, including: dogs, cats, and cats, minks, rabbits, hamsters, and marmosets. On the other hand, ducks, cows, roosters and pigs are not susceptible to the virus.

Following the new information, researcher Joan Santini, a microbiologist at the University College of London, calls for a comprehensive survey of pets that are common in homes or farms and to determine which ones are infected with the virus and could endanger humans. "We need to do some thorough research on the subject, we have no information and this is very important data," Santini emphasized.

Arjan Stegman, a veterinary epidemiologist at the University of Utrecht in the Netherlands, adds: "We need to take action now and find out if there is any concern about infecting animals to prevent a plague-spreading condition."

Did the cat catch up with the nursing home?

Researchers are currently planning to begin testing the possibility of re-infecting cats to humans. Such a study is planned by researcher Asisa Welles, a veterinary veterinary specialist at the University of Hanover, Germany. The idea for her research came after the outbreak of the virus in a nursing home in Bavaria, whose neighbors were in complete closure. In an epidemiological investigation, a lone cat was discovered in the area with signs of the virus, and there was a concern that the elderly in the institution may have been infected. In the Netherlands, too, a similar study is underway to prove whether a beloved pet is in danger.
