A 29-year-old black Toronto girl, Regis Korchinski-Paquet, has become the symbol of victims of police violence in Canada. In the middle of last week in Toronto, police officers from the Queen City came to the Korchinski-Paquet family's home, following a family dispute. Moments after their intervention, Regis fell from the 24th floor of his building. According to the victim's family lawyer, the police were alone with the young woman in the family apartment, preventing relatives from entering it.
According to Radio-Canada, the police investigation services indicated that “ the police (…) saw a woman on a balcony. Shortly after, the woman fell from the balcony to the floor. His death was noted at the scene ".
