The district office has temporarily suspended the Upper Isar. There is also a warning for the Pupplinger Au.

Lenggries - Since June 1, driving on the Isar in the Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen district is actually allowed again. But now there is a restriction: Driving on the Isar is temporarily prohibited in the area between the district border from the municipality of Wallgau and the bridge Ochsensitzer (parking lot) in the municipality of Lenggries for reasons of species protection and safety. "The reason is collapsed or transversely lying trees, in the area of which there are also breeding grounds for endangered bird species," says a press release from the district office.

A temporary driving ban in the area of the Upper Isar is required. Also because when the obstacles are removed, the breeding grounds and clutches in the FFH area can be destroyed. The breeding season is not yet over.

Dangerous wild wood accumulations in the Pupplinger Au area

Until the end of the breeding season, the Isar is temporarily prohibited in this area by boats and watercraft of all kinds. The district office has issued a general order.

Driving on the Isar in the Pupplinger Au area due to wild wood accumulation is also strongly discouraged, says Cornelia Breiter, head of the “Water and Soil” department at the Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen district office.

Boating Ordinance has been in force since last year

In principle, suitable boats can be used on the Isar since the beginning of June in accordance with the provisions of the Ordinance on Public Use, which has been in force since last year. But wider remembers: "The Isar is a wild river, hanging trees, driftwood or other obstacles can occur at any time." Current information can be found on the homepage of the district office at www.lra-toelz.de.
