  • The situation in the United States remains tense.
  • After George Floyd's death, Donald Trump continues to pour oil into the fire.
  • The US president is now threatened with far-reaching consequences.

Washington / USA - After the violent death of George Floyd, the situation in the USA remains tense until Tuesday night. President Donald Trump's behavior is now pouring oil into the fire again.

Given the renewed outbreaks of violence, Trump now threatened to crack down on the rioters and the use of the army. In a speech on Monday, Trump described the riots as "acts of domestic terror". If cities and states fail to take the necessary measures, he will send soldiers to “quickly solve the problem for them”.

After Trump spoke to the public at the appointment, the US President had his picture taken in front of a church with a Bible in hand. To clear the way for Trump, the security forces used tear gas against protesters who were again gathered near Trump's headquarters.

The President-elect of the opposition Democrats, Joe Biden, is outraged by the appearance of the President. Biden explains on Twitter: "He uses the American military against the American people". Biden is particularly indignant about the police operation, for Trump's church visit.

"For a photo shoot," the president fired tear gas and rubber bullets at demonstrators, Biden clarifies. Trump announced the deployment of "thousands of heavily armed" soldiers and police officers for the capital. Meanwhile, Trump called the outbursts of violence during the Washington protests "total shame". However, the US president described himself as the “president of law and order”.

The violent protests were sparked by the death of African American George Floyd in a brutal police operation in Minneapolis, Minnesota. It is the biggest unrest in the United States since the riots in 1968 after the black civil rights icon Martin Luther King was murdered.

Trump said in his short-term speech in the White House rose garden that citizens were "rightly repulsed and upset" about Floyd's death. His government wants to ensure that "justice" prevails in the case. But it cannot be allowed that the justified peaceful protest is overshadowed by an "angry mob".
