The General Seed Propagation Branch in Hama has identified three centers for receiving the wheat crop from the contracting fields contracted for in favor of the branch for the current season.
The director of the Foundation’s branch, Eng. Abdul Ghani Al-Aswad, stated in a statement to the SANA correspondent that screening centers were identified in Kfarbham, Abu Talisiyah and Ain al-Bad to receive wheat from the contracted peasants, indicating that special committees had been formed to examine the seeds supplied by farmers and their conformity with the results issued by the quality laboratories for samples.
Al-Aswad added that the foundation provides price incentives for farmers in addition to the new price that was set for wheat at 400 pounds, explaining that the price of crops delivered to the institution will be disbursed to farmers through the branches of the agricultural bank in the province.
He pointed out that the area planted with wheat crop in the contracting fields of it reached 55 thousand dunums, and its production estimates amounted to about 20 thousand tons of wheat, including 18 thousand tons of harsh variety and thousand tons of soft variety.
