Police arrested 66 protesters in St. Paul, Minnesota on Monday night.
By Andy Rose
Police in Saint Paul, Minnesota, arrested 66 protesters Monday night during a peaceful protest outside the State Capitol, authorities said.
Protesters marched from the governor's mansion to the Capitol to protest the death of George Floyd. Those who refused to leave after the 10 pm curfew took effect were quietly brought in in moderation.
St. Paul Police Chief Todd Axtell told CNN that "our hearts are broken for the Floyd family."
"Our community is suffering, our police are suffering," said Axtell. "All police leaders across the country and leaders across the country in general need to open our eyes, ears and, most importantly, our hearts to what is happening across the country."
He also suggested that the other Minneapolis police officers involved in Floyd's death had responsibility. "We have a strict policy at the St. Paul Police Department that it has an absolute duty to intervene," he said. "It was absolutely avoidable."

Boxing champion Floyd Mayweather to pay for George Floyd's funeral, ESPN reports
By Jill Martin and Hollie Silverman
Boxing champion Floyd Mayweather will pay for George Floyd's funeral, a representative for the athlete told ESPN.
Floyd died at the hands of Minneapolis police last week when former police officer Derek Chauvin knelt on his neck and two other officers held him. A fourth officer stood still as it happened. All of these police officers were fired by the department, but only Chauvin has been charged with the death.
A funeral for Floyd will be held in his hometown of Houston on June 9, family attorney Ben Crump said.
Leonard Ellerbe, CEO of Mayweather Promotions, confirmed the boxer's involvement in a statement to ESPN.
"He'll probably be mad at me for saying that, but yeah, (Mayweather) will definitely pay for the funeral," Ellerbe said.
Ellerbe also told ESPN that Mayweather did not want to talk about what she is doing.
