Russian security forces thwarted a terrorist attack in the central Russian republic of Chuvashia, in addition to uncovering a cache containing explosives.
"The investigation services have opened a criminal file for preparing for the commission of a terrorist act," RIA Novosti news agency quoted a statement of the Russian Investigation Commission in Chuvashia, noting that searches by Federal Security Service officials in the republic led to the discovery of a cache containing improvised explosive devices. Deactivated.
The statement added that federal security officials, in cooperation with representatives of the Ministry of the Interior, are working in the location to find the cache to reveal the circumstances of the accident, and all the belongings that are important to the investigation have been confiscated, pointing out that the security services are working to identify the persons involved in committing the said crime.
