Spain did not register coronavirus deaths for the second consecutive day, but infections were doubled

The number of deaths remains at 27,127. In the last 24 hours there were 137 new cases.

The Spanish Ministry of Health reported on Tuesday that for the second consecutive day there were no deaths from coronavirus in the territory. The total number of deaths continues to be 27,127, of which only 34 occurred in the last seven days.

This positive data contrasts with an increase that occurred in the number of diagnosed cases , with 137, compared to 71 that had been detected the previous day. The total number of infections now rises to 239,932 since the start of the pandemic. In the past 14 days, 955 people started symptoms, of which 247 became ill in the past week. 

The 137 new positives are located in Andalusia (twelve), Aragon (eight), the Balearic Islands (one), the Canary Islands (four), Cantabria (two), Catalonia (17), Ceuta (nine), the Valencian Community (one), Extremadura ( four), Madrid (73), Melilla (one), Murcia (two), Navarra (one), the Basque Country (one) and La Rioja (one).

In addition, there were 243 hospitalizations in the last week (123,974 in total) and 11 admissions in Intensive Care Units (11,413).

Of the 34 deaths registered this week, one is located in Andalusia, two in Aragon, two in Asturias, one in the Canary Islands, six in Castilla y León, nine in Catalonia, three in the Valencian Community, five in Extremadura, two in Galicia, one in the Basque Country and two in La Rioja.
