Track construction work currently leads to repeated rail replacement services between Miesbach and Bayrischzell. We checked what is actually being done.
Miesbach / Bayrischzell - punctuality on the rails is not a matter of course. The track construction company Emeran Braun, which is open from Friday, June 5 to Monday, June 15, on behalf of DB Netz AG at Bayrischzell station, has contractually committed to this. "If the trains cannot run again at the agreed time, it will be expensive for us," says site manager Johannes Deininger.
Late Friday evening, the company began renewing tracks 1 and 2 over a length of 150 meters. Rails, sleepers and ballast are exchanged, reports Deininger. A huge tamping machine is used to distribute the stone material with a plow and compact it with pimples.

To keep to the tight schedule, the construction team also shifts night shifts from Friday, June 5 to Monday, June 8. "We don't like doing that, but the railroad only gives us a narrow corridor to work in," emphasizes Deininger. During the construction period, rail replacement services for buses between Schliersee and Bayrischzell will be set up for train passengers. More information is available at www.brb.de. The parking lot on the B 307 between Tannerhofstraße and Bürgermeister-Kastl-Weg is now closed as a warehouse for the building materials up to and including Saturday, June 25th.
The BOB disappears - and becomes the BRB: Bayerische Regiobahn Oberland
The Miesbachers will soon have the track construction work behind them. From May 29, the company Xaver Pittrich converted two wooden switches to concrete south of the station and also stabilized the rails with new ballast over a length of 500 meters. The railway line is to be released again by Thursday 4 June at the latest. However, some residents were dissatisfied with Deutsche Bahn's information policy, reported Verena Assum (CSU) in the city council. Contrary to what was communicated, the work had already started on the night of May 27-28. When asked by our newspaper, the responsible company announced that it was only about the construction site equipment on the ice rink parking lot. This was largely "low noise".
