Friday for riots in the United States following the killing of George Floyd by the Minnesota State Police, and violence increasing. Five police officers were shot and wounded during rioting in various parts of the country, including Las Vegas.
According to reports in the Las Vegas Review Journal, one police officer was fatally wounded and a protester was killed in a shooting that broke out on the sidelines of a black lives protest rally. The shooting reportedly began after police tried to arrest a protester. In a nearby demonstration, a police officer shot and killed an armed man.
Four police officers were wounded by gunfire in the city of St. Louis, state, after armed rioters opened fire on them. According to local police, they are probably known offenders.
President Trump tweeted on social network Twitter about the successful coping between the capital and Minneapolis police last night and chose to thank himself. "There were no problems in the capital yesterday. Many arrests. Good job everyone did. Unrestrained power. Control. Also, Minneapolis was tremendous. Thank you President Trump!"
In the midst of this, severe riots took place in New York City. The windows of luxury stores on Fifth Avenue were shattered and the shops looted. In Brooklyn, police were documented arresting a black shop owner who called police on the charge of looting his store. The cops questioned the shopkeeper while handcuffed and facing the wall, even though a crowd of neighbors gathered instead to explain to the police that the man owned the store.
Meanwhile, Reuters reported that medical and senior US health experts warned that mass protests and public order deterioration in various cities in the United States could trigger a re-burst of the country's corona virus. More than a hundred thousand people have already died of the virus in the United States, the largest number in any country in the world.
