Whether by choice, boredom or simply necessity, many of us have found themselves perfecting their cooking abilities during the Corona closure. The yeast ran out of shelves (anyone said Challah?), The bloggers ’blogs and stories celebrated and every chef’s recipe went viral.
Out of and into this ongoing trend, a new culinary venture called chef-to-table is coming in, offering a chef-to-table home-cooked dish. How is it going? Choose a dish or dishes from one of the leading chefs in Israel offered on the site of the project, and receive a package of unique and measured raw materials with a courier, along with precise preparation instructions.
We chose a recipe for meat dish from Turkish cuisine, of our favorite chef, winner of Chef Atamana Landscape Chef, who during the closure we also totally fell in love with her Instagram feed (wanted to check out). The "Kabak Sarmesi", are in fact stuffed zucchini with beef and rice in tomato sauce - a kind of familiar "kusa mushroom", except that the place of the zucchini empties - slices the zucchini into slices and rolls the filling in them.
Although the recipe is not complicated, it was very easy to follow how to prepare. Everything was very accurate, and the video added different scenery tips that did not appear in the recipe (for example, the ingenious suggestion of tilting the mold while arranging the zucchini). The only thing missing was the size of the mold (we used the picture), which is that the slices of zucchini were over when the bowl still had a lot of filling. Lucky under the house there is a jade and a small jump has closed the corner, but for others it may be a little sucks. After the crisis, which slowed down the preparation time, a very tasty and impressive dish came out of the oven.
Bottom line, the concept is very nice that provides a challenge and a bit of pepper for the brewers of interest, and also gives a bad chance to get a chef's dose for those who swim less in the material. We especially liked the view of the landscape, the accuracy of shipping and quantities, as well as the fact that we were spared specific shopping like special spices. For us, the project is more suitable for a double meal or a relatively limited accommodation, and we would not rely on it to prepare a complete meal. In terms of price - on the one hand, this is a cheaper option than ordering dishes from a restaurant, but on the other hand it requires some effort for preparation as well as time.
