Al-Mayadeen Sports Club returned to its activities after liberating the city from terrorism and was able to climb to the second division football league and victory in the Deir Al-Zour Governorate championship in the Cubs category and the second place in the junior category.
In a statement to Lana, the club’s vice-president Moataz Fraih made it clear that the club started its activities immediately after the liberation of the city from terrorism. In the Cubs category, he won in the final against Al-Talaba Club with two goals against one goal and qualified for the Qatar Rally Championship, as he won the second place in the junior category, where he lost the final match to Al-Fatwa by three clean.
Freeh stated that the club achieved several achievements, including the rise to the Premier League in the 1997 season and played two consecutive seasons in the competition and won large teams such as dignity, unity, union, Tishreen, Hittin, Jableh and Majd, but it fell to the second degree due to poor financial liquidity and in 2011 the club rose to the first degree in football halls and the team did not play its time Due to the stopping of the sporting activity in the club, after the liberation of the city of Al-Mayadeen by the Syrian Arab Army, a management of the club was formed, consisting of Issam Frieh as president and membership of Moataz Frieh, Imad Al-Din Al-Hassan, Omar Al-Hamash and Khurm Tents, and the rehabilitation of the club’s headquarters and the settlement of the stadium’s ground were initiated.
Freeh said, “The club’s administration started to rehabilitate the headquarters of the administration, where the internal doors, electricity, water and wall paint were maintained, as for the rest of the doors, window glass and the main door, it was not installed because of its high cost.” He added that he provided support to the club only the amount of sixty thousand pounds in order to participate in the league. Freeh called on the executive office of the General Sports Federation to see the club’s facility and its stadium, which needs artificial turf, as it is the second and reserve stadium for the municipal stadium in Deir Ezzor to serve the club and neighboring clubs in light of the plan laid down by the Sports Federation and the Football Association to maintain the clubs ’clubs in all governorates.
The Al-Mayadeen Club was established in 1975, and it plays football, handball, table tennis, volleyball, athletics, chess, boxing and bicycles under the supervision of its new department consisting of Jamal Al-Sharabi as president, Moataz Fraih as a deputy and the membership of Ahmed Al-Kardoush, Maher Al-Suleiman and Rami Al-Shuaibi.
