The firefighting crews in the Civil Defense Directorate in Homs, in cooperation with the people, today put out a fire that broke out in the agricultural fields and olive trees near the houses in the western village of Al-Ghor in Homs countryside.
Brigadier General Ghayath Aqel, director of Civil Defense in Homs, told a SANA reporter that the burned area amounted to about 20 dunums of wheat, barley and olive trees, and that the fire approached the homes of citizens, adding that it was completely extinguished without causing any human losses.
In the past few days, several fires erupted in the countryside of Homs, affecting lands planted with wheat, barley, and fruit trees, and others on the road to Homs Palmyra and in the historic oasis of Palmyra of Palmyra.
