Hama-Sana
The branch of the General Company for Roads and Bridges in Hama works to implement contracted projects, maintenance and paving of roads, construction of bridges, and construction of residential buildings.
The branch manager, Eng. Imad Abu Touq, explained to the SANA Economic Bulletin that the branch implements many vital projects in the province, including paving and maintenance of roads and other works contracted with some public agencies, as part of precautionary measures to address the Corona virus, pointing out that the total of the branch plan for 2019 was 4,9 billion pounds. Of that, 3,393 billion were spent with a completion rate of 69 percent, the most important of which was the completion of the implementation of the Hama-Salmiya road with a value of 4,702 billion pounds and a peaceful Homs Highway with a contract value of 2,982 billion pounds and the implementation of the labor housing project in the Al-Wafa suburb with a contract value of 2,166 billion pounds and the branch is in the process of studying the implementation of eight other towers with a value of six billion .
On the plan for the current year, Abu Touq explained that the branch’s total plan amounted to four billion pounds, of which more than 240 million was spent, including several important projects, including the completion of the Hama Salamiya Highway and the Homs Salam Highway and the labor housing project in the Al-Wafa suburb.
He pointed out that there are important service projects in progress, such as rehabilitating roads in the expansion of the industrial zone, building the wall of the University of Hama, building a high reservoir, pumping lines, liquefaction in Qamana, and a drinking water liquefaction line from Ain Al-Krum Junction to each of the transit tanks and trees, replacing the trench-free water network and implementing the sewage network In Al-Orouba Square, Hama, maintenance of the Athria-Rusafa road, paving and asphalting of roads in the town of Abu Ad-Dahour.
Abu Touq pointed out that there are executive difficulties that hinder the completion of implementation of some projects, including delay in the disbursement of statements due to lack of funding, and also the presence of works on the sites of some projects, such as residential houses and agricultural projects.
