The Directorate of Internal Trade and Consumer Protection in Tartous organized three rationing orders against violating commercial activities in the regions of Tartous and Baniyas, closed a number of stores and referred their owners to the judiciary for committing serious violations.
The Director of Internal Trade and Consumer Protection in Tartous Hassan Hossam El-Din said in a statement to SANA correspondent today that large quantities of the violated foodstuffs, most of them baby foods, drinks and juices, were confiscated and the violators were arrested and referred them to the judiciary in order to establish the stores.
Hossam El Din pointed out that the confiscations included 50 cartons of dates, apricot jam, cherries, grape molasses, dates and falafel mixes, in addition to orange and cola syrup and bags of chips.
The Internal Trade Directorate recently closed two factories in the city of Tartous that manufacture foodstuffs and infringing sweets for children. Violators were referred to the competent court.
