Police refer to the deceased as a Chinese woman aged about 40 to 50 years old, about 1.6 meters tall, of fat build, with long black hair. The LCSD announced at 6:45 in the evening that the shark prevention net maintenance contractor had completed the inspection of the shark prevention nets at the beach, and confirmed that there were no large fish within the shark prevention nets. It has been removed and swimmers are urged to swim in the swimming area inside the shark prevention net for life safety. On the other hand, the LCSD will step up patrols within the swimming area.
Yesterday Golden Beach found a red flag hung on the beach
At 9 o'clock in the morning yesterday (2nd), when a lifeguard inspected the observatory at the Golden Beach in Tuen Mun, he found that there were sharks suspected to be in the shark prevention net and immediately notified the relevant departments. It can be seen at the scene that red flags have been hoisted at Golden Beach, and there are boats patrolling and inspecting inside the shark prevention net. In addition, the beach also broadcasted that "a big fish was found in the nearby waters. Please ask all swimmers to go ashore or board the floating platform immediately." Then the specific broadcast: "Suspected sharks appear."
Hu Qirong, a spokesman for the Hong Kong and Kowloon Life Saving Staff Association, who witnessed the sharks, said that at 9:45 in the morning, the lifeguard found a big fish about 1 meter long at the 2nd observation deck. Board the lookout to confirm the news. Several lifeguards also saw a large "gray, gray, blue, blue, tail fin resembling a shark" swimming in the swimming area, about 1 meter offshore, and immediately notified swimmers to go into the water. Hu emphasized: "Several people see it at the same time, certainly not dazzling!" The last time I saw a shark, it was more than 10 years ago that someone discovered a young shark under the shark prevention net.
