The project could be a milestone in Starnberg's recent history: under the name "Moosaik", cousins Rudolf and Robert Houdek want to redesign the commercial area north of the B 2 with other property owners. Now the owner and the administration have agreed on a panel of experts to accompany the planning process.

Starnberg - These six specialists are no strangers: they are the experts who have also thought about the new Schorn industrial estate. The committee is made up of Prof. Markus Allmann for architecture. He is a founding partner of a renowned Munich architecture firm, which has designed, among other things, the Herz-Jesu Church in the Neuhausen district and the new Friends project on the Friedenheimer Brücke. He also heads the Institute for Room Concepts and Fundamentals of Design at the University of Stuttgart. The second in the group is Prof. Thomas Auer, who holds the chair for building technology and climate-friendly building at the Technical University of Munich (TUM). In the field of landscape architecture, Prof. Susanne Burger is on the committee that teaches at Weihenstephan University. Prof. Franz Pesch, who taught at the University of Stuttgart for many years, is also involved as an urban planner. He was "a luminary known throughout Germany," said city architect Stephan Weinl recently at the city council meeting when he presented the committee.

Dr. Hans-Michael Schober from Freising has been appointed to the committee as an ecology expert. He is "one of the leading experts in the region in his field," said Weinl. The traffic planner Prof. Klaus Bogenberger, holder of the chair for traffic engineering at the Technical University (TU) Munich, makes half a dozen full. Weinl described the mosaic in the city council as "a vision with a lot of work behind it."

Stadt has had good experiences with experts in Schorn

The city had already had very good experiences with the experts in Schorn. “We received a design there that also delivers what it promises.” Mayor Patrick Janik also spoke of a “successful, high-quality design” that was made for Schorn. You should respect that, "even if you reject the project as such". The committee of experts is completed by four city representatives: Patrick Janik, construction officer Marc Fiedler (FDP) and the speakers for trade, commerce and tourism, Rudolf Zirngibl (CSU) and Stefan Kandler (BMS). Deputy is Urban Planning Officer Prof. Otto Gaßner (UWG). While the city council was unanimously named by the city council, the panel of experts also gave three no votes, including that of Dr. Ursula Lauer (Greens), who fights against the industrial area there as chairwoman of the Schorn citizens' initiative.

As reported several times, a future-proof and high-quality area for work, leisure and living is to be created between Petersbrunner and Moosstrasse north of Münchner Strasse up to the Moos in around 30,000 square meters of floor space. City council and administration are unanimously behind the considerations. The plans for the "mosaic" continue unabated regardless of the Corona crisis. Before the summer break, the initiators want to present the latest status. "We are very happy about the commitments from all the experts asked by the city and about the cooperation with this high-ranking committee together with the city of Starnberg. I am confident that the combination of internal and external perspectives will succeed in achieving the really best result for the area. The project is not called without reason, Moosaik - the connecting quarter, ”explained Rudolf Houdek. Architect Klaus Kehrbaum, who had suggested the committee, expects a great enrichment and a stronger future viability of the project.
