Mystical mythical creatures in windswept, overlapping waves - Bernd Schwarting's new series of works "Himmelslicht und Nachtalb" fascinates with liveliness and color.

With his unmistakable painterly handwriting, Bernd Schwarting is considered an insider tip among art collectors at home and abroad. He uses various style elements from past centuries: old masterly, very fine glazing technique as well as wet-on-wet painting.

Schwarting mainly paints with oil paint on canvas. But other, almost archaic materials, such as coal or ash, also find a place in his artistic works. "Ash is not just a waste product, an end point, but also an element of a new beginning, a catalyst for new beginnings, which is why it is used in my painting," says Bernd Schwarting.

He has dedicated his new series of works "Himmelslicht und Nachtalb" to the Altomünster market. The Birgitten Monastery with its centuries-old tradition is the core of its inspiration. Monastery life has always meant living with and with the old knowledge of the relationship between nature and man, including the spiritual or spiritual dimensions. "It has been of great concern to me since childhood and found its way into my painting in this series of works," says the artist. Naturalness becomes visible as lively flora and fauna in Schwarting's painting: man in his physicality, but also in his mental dimensions.

Published for the first time, the Altomünster Monastery Museum shows impressive, surprising and wonderfully colored, large and small format pictures on two floors in an extraordinary exhibition. Schwarting's painting shows in a fascinating way the great human themes of searching, turning, looking, exploring and magical-mythical thinking.

His painting is considered one of the most interesting positions in the younger generation of Berlin painters. Bernd Schwarting was born in Northern Germany and now lives and works in Berlin. His training included positions in Oldenburg and Dresden, among others. He is already represented in important museums and galleries in Europe, the USA and Asia.

With his works, the artist is a guest at international art fairs and is represented in important collections of contemporary art. The Kunsthalle in Emden, the Osnabrück Art Museum, the Marburger Kunsthalle and the Museum of Modern Art in Passau, Wöhrlen Foundation, have already hosted extensive solo exhibitions of his paintings.

“Schwarting is an exceptional artist. And it is a special exhibition in our museum, which we can present as a highlight for our market and the entire region from Augsburg to Munich, ”says Professor Wilhelm Liebhart, chairman of the museum and home association Altomünster. "At www.museum-altomuenster.de, interested parties can get a first impression of this exhibition through texts and a short film."

Until August 30th, the exhibition in the Museum Altomünster can be visited in compliance with the applicable hygiene regulations. The museum is open every weekend, Saturdays from 1pm to 4pm and Sundays from 1pm to 5pm. The catalog for the exhibition can be purchased on site for 10 euros.
