They were charged with a common assault by the police. The case appeared in the Eastern District Court today (4th). The case was adjourned until July 20 at the request of the defense in order to obtain the prosecution's documents and prepare legal opinions. Each accused was allowed to bail out of 1,000 yuan in cash for trial, and no witnesses could be harassed during the prosecution.
A total of five defendants, three men and two women, aged between 14 and 16 years old, were also charged with one common assault offence, alleging that they attacked a 15-year-old male victim in Shaukeiwan, Hong Kong on November 20 last year.
Allegedly, the male involved in the case was a 15-year-old male student. Suspected of political issues, he was surrounded by defendants and others in the school classroom during the break, and was attacked with water bottles, bamboo fiber, tennis balls, etc.; the male was slightly bruised. After discussing with the family after the incident, the police decided to call the police. After investigation, the police arrested 6 men and 2 women. Recently, 5 of them were prosecuted.
