At least 33 people have been killed since last week in Central America during the passage of tropical storms Amanda and Cristobal, according to a new official report.
In El Salvador, the two storms left 27 dead and 6 missing, according to a new government report. Amanda, who fell in the region on Sunday, also killed at least four people in Honduras and two in Guatemala.

Amanda and Cristobal have caused floods, landslides, power outages and drinking water supplies. According to the head of cabinet of the government of El Salvador, Carolina Recinos, 11,179 people were evacuated and transferred to 210 shelters across the country. The weather forecast indicates that the heavy rains could continue until Friday or Saturday in El Salvador, where the authorities have called on the population to remain alert.
