The Italian Civil Protection Authority announced that the number of deaths due to Covid disease 19 jumped by 71 deaths today, compared to 55 the previous day, while the number of new cases stabilized almost 321 compared to 318 cases yesterday.
The authority revealed that the total number of deaths since the outbreak of the epidemic on February 21 now stands at 33,601, which is the third highest death rate in the world after the United States and Britain. Among the new cases recorded today came 237 cases in the region of Lombardy in the north of the country, which remains by far the most affected by the epidemic in Italy in terms of the number of infections and deaths This region which records the second highest toll in terms of the number of new cases of the virus is located near Piedmont, which recorded only 19 cases and is the eighth out of twenty where no new cases were recorded today.
