Berlin (dpa) - The health authorities in Germany reported 394 corona infections to the Robert Koch Institute (RKI) within one day.

This means that since the beginning of the Corona crisis, 182 764 people in Germany have been demonstrably infected with Sars-CoV-2, as the RKI reported early Thursday morning (data status 04.06. 0 o'clock).

So far, according to RKI information in Germany, 8581 have been proven to be infected with the virus, increasing the number of reported deaths by 30 within 24 hours. According to RKI estimates, around 167,800 people have survived the infection, 600 more than a day earlier .

According to the latest RKI information, the number of reproductions, or R-value for short, has again dropped below the critical mark of 1.0, namely to 0.71 (data status 3.6. 0 o'clock). This means that an infected person infects fewer than one other person on average. The R value shows the infection process approximately one and a half weeks beforehand. The previous day it was 0.89 (data status 2.6. 0 o'clock).

The RKI had already declared at the weekend that the R-value was sensitive to short-term changes in the number of cases, such as those caused by individual outbreaks. This could lead to relatively large fluctuations, especially in the case of a smaller number of new cases.

Since mid-May, the RKI has also given a so-called 7-day R. It refers to a longer period and is therefore less subject to daily fluctuations. According to RKI estimates, this value (data status 3.6. 0 o'clock) was 0.83 (previous day: 0.87). It shows the infection process 8 to 16 days ago.
