The citizens' initiative from Untereurach failed with another attempt to enforce speed 60 on the state road outside the town signs. The Iffeldorf residents received a friendly but definite “No” from the district administrator. The initiative still does not want to give up. She is considering trying a petition to the state parliament.

Iffeldorf - There is a bit of frustration when Hans-Dieter Necker says: "It has been a tough affair for four and a half years." He and his fellow campaigners Johannes Wagner and Gerhard Kerfers, the three heads of the initiative, have been trying to speed up 60 to enforce the state road Penzberg-Seeshaupt near Untereurach. It is about the route between the motorway exit and the Iffeldorfer industrial area, on both sides of the short inner-city section. As the most elegant variant, they prefer to move the Untereuracher town sign to the commercial area and then allow speed 60. The initiative had collected 790 signatures one and a half years ago.

So far only a partial success: Tempo 70 for a year

Only a partial success was granted to her: For at least one year, speed 70 has been in both directions between the industrial area and the town sign. A limit that, according to Necker, is often not met. Therefore, he recently asked Mayor Hans Lang to ask the police about controls. "Motorcyclists and motorists will notice that quickly if there is no control." And then, according to Necker, the residents on the other side of the train tracks can hear all the noise.

Latest attempt to write to district administrator: "Of course negative again"

The most recent attempt to achieve 60 km / h was a letter to District Administrator Andrea Jochner-Weiß. The answer came in May. "Of course negative again," says Hans-Dieter Necker. "I have the feeling that we are going to be starved on the outstretched arm. But they don't know me there. ”He believes that the options available through the district office have now been exhausted. According to him, the initiative is now considering trying to petition the state parliament. He also wants advice from district member Michael Asam Rat. The State Building Authority, he says, is responsible for the state roads in four counties, but there are different rules in each county.

In her letter to the initiative, the district administrator had repeated the previously known reasons for rejection: that the noise levels were not achieved, there were no closed buildings, the Seeshaupt case could not be compared with Iffeldorf because the focus was on an accident, and the evaluation of the accidents a speed limit is not justified for traffic safety reasons.

Initiative from Untereurach criticizes in reply letter

Even if the initiative sees the possibilities exhausted by the district office. Without contradiction, she did not want to accept the district council's reasoning. In a reply letter this week, Necker, Wagner and Kerfers criticize that their concern "apparently has not really been re-examined". They accuse Jochner-Weiß of quoting a three-year-old statement from the Ministry of Transport that does not take the changes into account and relying on an incorrect sound calculation from 2017. The trio argues that traffic has increased significantly, other noise sources have not been included in the sound calculation, and two thirds of the accidents would not have happened at a slower pace. It also defends the comparison with Seeshaupt. There, a transfer of town signs was justified in 2003 with the "protection of the resident population from noise and exhaust gases". According to the trio, the three homes in Seeshaupt were about 20 in Iffeldorf.
