Zorneding - A possible wind turbine in the south of Zorneding was a big topic in the community last year and also in the local election campaign. Since then, however, the project has become quiet. Could it have been buried secretly?
But on the contrary. "It is progressing, albeit slowly," reports Wolfgang Poschenrieder from the Energy Forum Zorneding (EFZ). The EFZ had started the project in the first place. A wind power plant in the form of a civil society on the edge of the forest in the southern municipality is planned. Foreign investors should be excluded from the outset.
In Hamberg, the wind turbine is only 400 meters from the residential area
Last year the EFZ had talks with landowners, whose land could in principle be considered for the construction of the wind turbines. The EFZ tried to dispel any concerns and had therefore invited Hans Zäuner and Werner Stinauer, the initiators of the wind turbine in Hamberg (municipality of Bruck). They reported that there was nothing left of some residents' initial fears.
In Hamberg the wind turbine is only 400 meters from the residential area, in Zorneding it would be over 1100 meters. The expected yield would also be significantly higher in Zorneding, since there are now more modern wind turbines that are more suitable for the local low wind locations. Zäuner, himself the second head of the hunting association in Bruck, was also able to dispel the concerns of the hunting association.
The EFZ has now envisaged specific locations
In the meantime, the EFZ has considered specific locations and has held talks with the Ebersberg district group of BUND Naturschutz and with representatives of the Landesbund for bird protection. The opinion of the bird conservationists is still expected, the BUND nature conservation has already signaled its support.

Now the EFZ has created a new website: At windkraft-zorneding.de you will find not only general information, but also the menu item "Fakes versus Facts", where EFZ member Christine Brombacher has clear and well-known false reports about wind power juxtaposed and each with source information.
Poschenrieder: "We can certainly hope that a majority is in favor"
Under the menu item “Projects”, examples from the region are shown that are encouraging and can also provide one or the other suggestion for Zorneding. In addition, the menu item "Supporters" contains two pages with statements of anger conditions that support the idea of wind power. There are currently two municipal councils. Apropos: Ultimately, it is the new municipal council that has to decide on the building permit. Poschenrieder: "We can certainly hope that a majority will support it."
