Vaccination skepticism in Germany is great in the Corona crisis. The value differs greatly among G7 countries.

  • The coronavirus vaccine is still in development.
  • However , a study has now found out how many people would be vaccinated in Europe .
  • The comparison between Germany and the other countries is startling.

It will still be quite a while before there is a coronavirus vaccination . However , according to the Funke media group, a representative survey by the Kantar opinion research institute among the G7 countries found out what the willingness to be vaccinated looks like in various European countries. In Germany, 67 percent of those surveyed stated that they were safe or likely to be vaccinated against the coronavirus. In the study, 10 percent of those questioned described themselves as strict opponents of corona vaccination .

Coronavirus vaccination: 67 percent of Germans would be vaccinated against Covid-19

The greatest approval is in the UK . There, 78 percent of the respondents said they would get vaccinated. The lowest value was found in the survey among people from France : 58 percent of those surveyed want to be vaccinated for certain or likely. Germany is therefore in the position with the second lowest number of people who advocate vaccination. This also applies to the question of whether they would have their children vaccinated against the coronavirus . Only 64 percent affirmed this in Germany. In addition, there are no other G7 countries with so many strict deniers. The problem when one in ten refrains from vaccination: those who refuse to do so endanger people who are not allowed to be vaccinated, for example because of an immunodeficiency or in infants.

Coronavirus vaccination: The reason for the high number of refusers is obvious

"It is a problematic value that Germany has the second lowest willingness to vaccinate ," says Torsten Schneider-Haase from the Kantar polling institute . If you look at the numbers of how many people in the G7 countries are worried about the Corona crisis, the low willingness to vaccinate seems logical. Compared to the other six large industrialized nations, Germans are the least worried at 65 percent. The greatest fear is in Japan with 86 percent. The number in Germany is related to "that the number of corona infections in this country is much lower than in the USA, Great Britain, Italy or France," says Schneider-Haase.
