The new scenario of the coronavirus in Argentina marks a clear differentiation between various points (provinces, capitals, regions) that are moving towards a "new normal" and the sectors where the virus is still present, with this instability in the numbers of infected that forces monitor minute by minute. The City, as a country in itself, has the coordinates of the most complex scenarios demarcated: Balvanera, Palermo and Flores. That is why in the first one, a Detect operation was launched this Saturday, actively looking for cases of coronavirus and its close contacts to mitigate its spread.

At a crossroads of key avenues in the Balvanera neighborhood, in Jujuy and Belgrano, a tent and a trailer for the City Government were installed early this Saturday, with two offices set up in its structure. The objective of Nación y Ciudad is to search, however several neighbors approached believing that they could take a turn and wait for a test.

The health personnel was organized into five teams of three members each, to go house to house to make the first contacts, a review of the situation. Light blue nightgown, chinstrap, direct to homes that they already have in a database and that were reported with positive or suspected cases. For example, in a PH on Calle Pichincha, the attention of one of the crews was concentrated. There, a family tested positive in five of its members , who are hospitalized. The interview started with the rest of the members, although the rest of the residents of the horizontal property approached to request the checkup. The specialists explained to them that they were going to analyze each case, according to the contact they had with the infected.

Those cases, if they are considered suspicious, are escorted to the tent where the first interview is conducted. And only later, if there are symptoms or the picture warrants it, they take them to one of the offices to do the swab. Balvanera is the neighborhood where the most patients were registered in the last five days, according to the Buenos Aires government.

The Detect (Strategic Testing Device for Coronavirus in the Terrain of Argentina), is carried out jointly by health authorities of the Nation and the City, and had its first landing in the Padre Mujica neighborhood (Villa 31) of Retiro in early May, and then it extended to four other vulnerable neighborhoods of Buenos Aires. The concentration in Belgrano and Jujuy refers to seeking to identify the "close contacts of the 84 people from that neighborhood recently confirmed with Covid-19 , evaluate them and mitigate the contagiousness of the virus," according to the local government.

From there it will spread to the rest of the Buenos Aires neighborhoods, prioritizing those with the highest number of infected, so it will continue in Palermo and Flores, according to health authorities.

According to the health protocols in force due to the pandemic, in the event that a person presents symptoms compatible with Covid-19, they will be swabbed and then transferred in a taxi specially adapted to the nearest Febrile Emergency Unit (UFU) , where they will wait the result.

If that person is positive for Covid-19, they will be referred according to their care needs, but if they are negative, the health authorities will carry out a daily telephone follow-up to assess their evolution and provide assistance in case they require it, an official statement detailed.

When making the visit, the agent will present an identification that certifies that it is part of the Ministry of Health and Detect.

According to the City's Epidemiological Bulletin, until May 30, Balvanera had 447 cases of Covid-19, which represented 5% of the district's total, with an incidence of 321.4 cases per 100,000 inhabitants.
