Wolfratshausen - The kitchen smells of pizza and pasta, and the first guests enjoy a beer or coffee on the terrace. Not only BCF and TSV Wolfratshausen athletes, families also meet at the Isar Loisach Stadium for dinner. At the beginning of this week, Javid Khalegi, who everyone just calls "Gianni", opened a new restaurant in the club house on Krauterstrasse: In "Da Gianni", the 41-year-old experienced restaurateur would like to offer high-quality international cuisine for every budget and clientele.

Gianni already demonstrated that this concept could work at his previous place of work: Before moving to the Farchete football stadium, he ran the club restaurant of SV Eurasburg-Beuerberg for twelve years. It was "a good time". After twelve years and some changes in Eurasburg, the Afghan, who has over two decades of experience in club catering, decided to make a fresh start.

Gianni was particularly appreciated in Eurasburg for his flexibility. "When regular customers called me at a quarter to twelve that night if I could make scampi, I switched on the stove," he says. He rarely had to call out a last lap: "If there is still a good atmosphere and people want to stay seated, I do not need to throw them out." Its simplicity made the 41-year-old popular with the athletes of SV Eurasburg-Beuerberg.

In Farchet, Gianni would like to build on the good experiences with the athletes and, for example, offer them their own menu with slightly cheaper prices. Visiting the restaurant should not be too expensive for non-athletes either: the prices on the menu that Gianni put together for the opening are below average. "But I don't save on quality," he says. After all, it is important that the customers like it. "It does not help me to offer a meal for a few euros, but customers never come back because it was not good." Gianni would like to prove that affordable prices and good cuisine are not mutually exclusive.  dst

During the corona pandemic, “Da Gianni” opens daily from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. After that, the restaurant should remain open until midnight.
