'What the truth hides' | The new normality in sight and the parents are still lost, with a thousand doubts

2020-06-07T05:30:25.363Z

Twelve weeks of child confinement and there are still many unknowns to be resolved about what the new normality will bring

In the fantastic Info-K children's program they have been explaining the coronavirus and the confinement for weeks through press conferences with questions from the children to authorities and specialists. Given the success of the program and seeing the reality in the streets, a “Coronavirus for dummies” would be good because people are in trouble… or they play dumb.

The solvency, clarity and tranquility of Fernando Simón's communication are exemplary, but his is not the only voice we hear these months. Among the experts, professional socialists and ramblings on social networks there are more voices shouting at the same time than in a demonstration with bad megaphones. It is wise to rectify and adapt to new information, but everyone defends his version with so much energy at all times that it seems that they are always right.

And I don't know who to listen to anymore.

Let's see if we clarify: Do the children spread more than the Bursting monkey or do the poor creatures in the end do nothing? Have the conclusions of these discoveries been obtained now or do they suspiciously coincide with the enrollment calendar, the payments to summer houses and the triumphalist press conferences?

Were schools in various countries that have opened and closed safe in the first place, or did children already come with the virus? Do our schools open with all the guarantees and for social need or to give a truce to those responsible for Education? Is taking children to school or home to restore normality or condemn them to trauma and infect the whole family? Will the security measures be followed and "everything will be fine" or is it a lie assumed by all those involved who can no longer endure confinement with children? Has education done its homework or abandoned teachers by passing them brown without giving them resources?

Will the children be able to play in the parks or will it be better for them to spread on the street because the terraces take up all the space? And now that they are out of the bunker, will families also be able to enjoy a drink or will there still be terraces in all the bars that smoke like crazy when there are children at the next table?

Shall we start planning a holiday feint wisely or will it be full of tourists and with abusive prices?

Will we be able to recover all the medical visits of the children who have been canceled or will they give us an immunity voucher for half a year?

Will we come out of this pandemic more in solidarity valuing the small joys of life or in 15 days we will be fighting for a span of beach?

I have only one thing clear: our daughter was worried if she could not celebrate her birthday. And in the end, in petit committee and with several low cost meetings, we have succeeded. To parents, small victories like this are what give us confidence in moments of so much dilemma.
