Anyway, Mustafa Hafez, a flight attendant at Kirbit Airport, says that "I was scheduled for a flight later that day. It was normal with us in the Corps, there was no aircraft for any pilot, so I was on base. Suddenly I heard explosions. The passenger door and we flew to a side track because the main was wrecked, where I helped him get on a MiG plane. We didn't even know what the plane was and helped him out quickly. Then I tried to find a plane for me as well, but then a second assault wave arrived at 8:50 p.m. , And those who tried to take off and failed to hit the ground. 

"After this attack, our mechanics arrived who fled after the first bombing. I found MiG 17 and flew with it, not knowing if it was at all pentagonal or working well, I just knew it was on. I turned around the base to protect it, and then I saw an Israeli Mirage lower and bomb the ground. Our pilot, whose plane was hit, left the floor, fortunately he survived, because it is usually impossible to abandon below 250 meters. I opened fire on the Mirage three times, but it was frustratingly quick so I didn't have much To do, ”concludes the Egyptian pilot.  

Another and critical problem that Egypt faced during the surprise attack of Operation Focus was the fact that the Egyptian Foreign Minister was on a flight with the Iraqi Minister of Defense along the Israeli-Egypt border, and the Egyptian Defense Minister was also on the same tour but on another plane. Therefore, at a critical moment of the attack the commander-in-chief of the Egyptian army could not conduct his forces from the command room. In fact, the Egyptian Foreign Minister and the Iraqi Minister of Defense landed at Sinai shortly before it was completely taken out of action. The Egyptian defense minister did not play this fortune and he had to fly with his pilot to Cairo at that critical hour. Losing this connection was very important to leading the Israeli attack during those hours.

Hussein Mustafa Hassan was at Beri Hemda Airport during the Israeli attack. He said, "After the third assault, there were no active aircraft in the field. Mustafa Hafez, who continued to defend his base with another aircraft, even managed to get into battle with Israeli aircraft. "After the fourth assault, when I was about to land, there were 3 Israeli aircraft in front of me and above. The officer who was flying in the airplane behind me said:" Mustafa, over your head, "I lifted my head, saw the planes and decided to fly in their direction. They did a reversal and tried to hurt me. I also opened fire but was hit twice without being hit. Just then they disappeared and I returned to landing. I was able to land even though the plane was very damaged. I was not so worried that the plane would catch fire because I had hardly any fuel. After I saw how much the plane was severely damaged. A small fire but somehow I put it out with a fire extinguisher. " 

Despite these testimonies, Egyptian pilots note that, despite the surprise, some of the claims of Israeli success were exaggerated, and in some cases our Air Force bombed dummy planes and old airfields. No problem, whatever helps you sleep.
