Winters (dpa) - A forest fire in Northern California has triggered a major fire service operation. Around 600 emergency services fought the fire in the Solano district, the fire brigade said on Sunday night (local time).
Two buildings fell victim to the flames and around 100 others were threatened. Residents in the affected region have been asked to leave their homes. The fire had spread to over 4.8 square kilometers. The fire broke out near the city of Winter on Friday for as yet unexplained reasons.
