The title "Let the moon stand in the sky" comes from the last verse of "I'm tired, go to rest", that pious song for children who will hopefully slip into bed. It is God who is supposed to give the moon the opportunity to "see" the quiet world, so that everything rhymes and there is no need to worry. For the opening credits, you can see the chic windows of chic single-family houses. Only the automated lawn sprinkler unfolds at night. So it can, it should go on forever.
But this time it is the next morning, the robotic lawnmower is quietly pulling its way, the child is gone, Emil, 13. Stefan Hafner and Thomas Weingartner (book) appear to be doing all the time in association with director Christopher Schier and cameraman Thomas W. Kiennast Welt, documenting the transition from carelessness (Emil is already going, Emil has stayed with his friend) to worrying (where is he, where?). You see the mother, Laura Tonke, as she calls here, walks there, also drives up to the school, you see the father, stepfather, Lenn Kudrjawizki, who is a little less carefree, quite normally at work in the operating room.
Victoria Mayer and Hans Löw can be seen as the parents of Emil's best friend Basti, Tim Offerhaus. They also know of nothing, somewhat cool, well-off people, they too live really elegantly and insanely uncomfortably. Now you can see two paddlers. A few cuts later, of course, it will be them who will find the body.

It only took a few minutes for Leitmayr and Batic , Udo Wachtveitl and Miroslav Nemec to arrive. If you complain that people's suffering is ignored at the crime scene , you can see in the face of Laura Tonke how existences completely and forever break down in one morning.
Word and image achieve this through precision, including recess technology, without making it seem agile. Rather, you follow the eyes of a dumb, free-floating narrator who gets stuck here and there and then looks very closely. And if it is the unexpected little animals that understandably attract his attention, because there is a "lizard problem" with the neighbors friends. The tragic and the grotesque like to appear together, in any case they are not a contradiction to one another, provided that everything has its place.
Such distractions also sharpen concentration, strange but true. "Let the moon stand in the sky" is a good, versatile and hard-hitting crime thriller, but it is masterfully filmed. The rooms and scenes actually make one think of the hit cinema “ Parasite ”.

Concentration: Basti's sister Hannah, Lea Zoe Voss, is now coming back from the tennis camp and the staff is complete. The commissioners, supported by the brave Kalli, Ferdinand Hofer, listen around in every way, but they grope in the dark for almost as long as ours.
