Gordon, the son who loves ice hockey, and Wu Siqi, his mother, are such a loving mother-child pair. And ice hockey has become an important place for them to have more common topics and narrow their parent-child relationship.
Born in 2008, Gordon, the main defender, 6 years old, loves the Vegas Golden Cavaliers. Since the age of five, Gordon has gradually practiced figure skating. Eight months later, under the recommendation of his father and colleagues, Gordon was exposed to one of the most exciting sports in the world-ice hockey, and he began his ice hockey journey ever since. To this day, Gordon has become a member of the U12 team of the Hong Kong Ice Hockey Training School.
Mother Wu Siqi was accompanied and waiting for her son to practice on the ice rink, and found that the children in the field enjoyed the training process very much. Infected by their atmosphere, this mother also became interested in the sport her son liked, and wanted to give it a try. Wu Siqi hopes to be able to roam freely around the court like young players, so that he can skate with his son. So mother Siqi began to learn to skate. Three months later, when she mastered basic skating skills, she officially learned to play ice hockey.
On a Saturday morning in 2014, Gordon participated in the regular training conducted by the Hong Kong Ice Hockey Training School at the West Kowloon Center every week. It was his first time to experience ice hockey. He was first arranged to form a team with other members for skating training. Gordon took some time to become familiar with skates. Compared to figure skating, ice hockey skates are more likely to slip. Although he fell many times, he did not damage his interest in ice hockey. He is quite happy with the training. What is more gratifying is that he met many like-minded new friends on the ice rink.
My mother Wu Siqi first played ice hockey in January 2015 when she studied at the West Kowloon Center. "At the time, there was only me as a woman, and I was still with a group of young children and firefighters. I guess at the time, only me was a beginner, so the coach specially taught me some skating skills in the first class. When I was practicing, Experienced people lined up to practice shooting on the other side. At first, I felt a little embarrassed, but when the time passed slowly, this feeling gradually disappeared. 45 minutes of training did not make me tired, but it did require a lot of physical energy, no It’s unavoidable that the whole body is sweaty. This exercise is not easy at all. Only by spending more time practicing can you slowly improve."
Like many people, Gordon loves ice hockey. He is fascinated by the speed and passion of ice hockey. He also enjoys exciting games. At the same time, Gordon also likes to make new friends. Through ice hockey, he has met many friends who also like this activity, and will have fun together in his spare time. In addition, Gordon has the opportunity to join the team to participate in competitions, such as Taiwan, Shanghai and Beijing, so that he can contact and feel the culture of other cities.
Gordon's most memorable moment for hockey was when Hockey 5 entered the finals on behalf of U10 in the hockey school. He was happy, excited and nervous at the time, and his mood was beyond description. It is a rare experience of the finals, which promotes the players of the whole team to be more united, determined, and everyone hopes to be the best in this final. Although I knew that the team players were very strong, they were encouraged and supported by the coaches, parents and players, and finally finished the runner-up.

Participating in an ice hockey summer camp is also a very good opportunity to teach Gordon the importance of independence, patience and tolerance. He went to Sweden to participate in the ice hockey summer camp last summer, which is undoubtedly a rare opportunity to expand his horizons.
At the school, the Hong Kong Ice Hockey Training School also implemented positive thinking in the curriculum, which greatly strengthened Gordon's self-confidence. In addition to being beneficial to learning, he also realized the importance of teamwork and learned to persevere and tolerate others. For her mother Wu Siqi, the speed of ice hockey and the exciting game are also important factors to attract her. The most important point is that she likes to watch her son Gordan work hard on the skating rink.
Because I understand the love of each hockey story, I cherish every heart that is moving towards ice hockey. I hope that under the efforts of all the people, more people will feel the charm of ice hockey fans, and promote Hong Kong ice hockey to become a national participation. Gordon's mother added: During the epidemic, in addition to regular online teaching and preparation for the middle school interview, there are also attempts to do physical training at home. Gordon will use the physical training method taught by the coach at home, and will also pick up the white rabbit at home for weight training.
